One-Day Walking Pilgrimage

POLISH CORPUS CHRISTI ONE-DAY WALKING PILGRIMAGE

REGISTRATION STARTS AT 9AM.

Registration takes place here at Ss. Peter & Paul Church in Great Meadows, NJ. We will start and end the Walk here at Ss. Peter & Paul's Church in Great Meadows, approximately 15 miles. We will arrive back to Ss. Peter & Paul Church approximately 6:00 - 6:30PM, where we will conclude with Mass around 6:30pm or 7:00pm.
Transportation to Ss. Peter & Paul Church, (in the morning to start the walk and again in the evening to return home), is the responsibility of the participants. Cars are not allowed to follow the Pilgrimage for safety reasons. We will have our own traffic safety team in place throughout the day.
The Pilgrimage is filled with the spirit of penance and prayer and requires appropriate behavior as well as the appropriate dress. Pilgrims are asked to obey the rules of the Pilgrimage.

I N F O R M A T I O N

This day will be filled with prayer, meditation, and song
* What to take with you on the Pilgrimage:
Small backpack with the Holy Bible, prayer book and rosary, raincoat/umbrella, some dry food, refillable water bottle, dry and wet tissues, bandaids, bug spray, sunscreen, hat, good shoes, appropriate clothing, etc.
Short shorts, short skirts, swimming suites, tee shirts with inappropriate images or saying are not allowed.
***People who play guitars or other musical instruments are asked to bring them along on the journey.

(Must be in-person—no mailed registration will be accepted)
* For safety AND insurance reasons everyone has to be registered before starting the pilgrimage. This means all walkers, traffic crew, drivers, helpers, etc.

Children and youth under the age of 18 registering for the pilgrimage must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
***Please register for videotaping permits.

1. Everyone walking, driving, serving, or helping on the pilgrimage MUST BE REGISTERED.
2. The Pilgrimage (walk) will start with a large hand-carried wooden Cross, followed by Marian Pilgrimage Emblems, and then the Pilgrims (walkers) will follow.
3. Teenagers under age 18 years old need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
4. Children should stay under the care of the parents or guardians.
5. Pilgrims with health problems should declare them during the registration.
6. During the pilgrimage it is prohibited to use alcohol beverages or drugs.
7. Dress should be appropriate to the religious character of the Pilgrimage (beach dress, short skirts, short shorts, bathing suits, tee shirts with inappropriate images or saying, etc. are not allowed).
8. The Pilgrimage can only be accompanied by the “cars of service”. For safety issues no other cars will be allowed to follow. (This also means no cars are allowed to stop by the walkers).
9. Places of stop (breaks), and all the areas along the Pilgrimage route must remain clean.
10. Video taping of the Pilgrimage is free of charge but you must obtain a video permit before the start of the Pilgrimage.
11. All rules, obedience to the directors and servers of the pilgrimage, and respect for directions must be obeyed for the safety of all.
12. Pilgrims who do not follow the rules will be dismissed from the Pilgrimage.
13. Each pilgrim is asked to keep all sources of safety on the road and at all resting places.
14. All religious symbols, banners, uniforms, posters, etc.. must be approved by the head of the Walking Pilgrimage.
15. There shall be no soliciting of any kind without the consent of the head of the Walking Pilgrimage.
16. The Organizers have the right to make decisions in cases not covered by the rules.

From Brooklyn - to Holland Tunnel or Verrazano Bridge, to 78 W, take exit 17 - Rt. 31 North to Rt. 46 East – approximately 5-6 miles on left is Ss. Peter & Peter Church (red brick).
From South - Rt. 31 North to Rt. 46 East – 5-6 miles on the left is Ss. Peter & Peter Church (red brick).
From West - to Rt. 80 E to Rt. 46 E – approximately 15 miles to Ss. Peter & Peter Church (red brick) on the left.
