XXVII Walking Pilgrimage
from Great Meadows, NJ to American Czestochowa, Doylestown, PA
August 7-10 2014


The XXVI Walking Pilgrimage will begin at 7:00 am (registration from 5.30am) on Thursday, August 7th. at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Great Meadows, NJ.

The conclusion of the Walking Pilgrimage will be a Holy Mass celebrated on Sunday, August 10th at 2:00 pm at American Czestochowa in Doylestown, PA.

Mass is celebrated daily. There are many opportunities for confession, counseling, reflection and fellowship.

Please note: A pilgrimage is an occasion for penance and prayer,
and requires appropriate behavior as well as the appropriate dress.


Registration costs per day (2014)
Adults: $30.00
Young Adults (15-24): $25.00
Children (7-14): $15
Children (3-6): Flat fee $5
Children (0-2): Free

Seniors (65+): Flat fee $10

Discount for on-line registration before August 1st

Included in your registration: baggage transport, insurance, on-site First Aid, rest stops, campsites, provisions, etc.

You are welcome to join the pilgrimage on whichever day(s) suits you best. You will be transported to the pilgrimage after your registration.

NOTE:
IF YOU HAVE A CAR

  • You CANNOT leave your car at Great Meadows.
  • Once you complete your registration on Thursday morning, drive your car to Our Lady of Czestochowa Shrine in Doylestown (directions to Doylestown, PA) and park in the designated area. You will be provided directions to Czestochowa as necessary at the time of registration.
  • From there, you will be transported by bus to the pilgrimage.
  • The last bus leaves promptly at 10:00 am

What to bring:
The Holy Bible, prayer book and rosary, tent, air mattress, sleeping bag, poncho(s), comfortable walking shoes, casual shoes, appropriate clothing, lots of socks (about 2 pairs per day), some snacks, some first-aid items (powder, bandages) sun screen, bug repellent, dry and wet tissues, towel, toothbrush, personal hygiene items, refillable water bottle etc.

Note: Each person is allowed 2 pieces of luggage. You must have your own tent. Please try to pack as light as possible. Each piece must have an luggage tag with your name, address and phone number. Please tag all of your belongings.

Youth under the age of 18 not accompanied by a parent must present a signed copy of Guardian Permission Slip available for download here.

When you register in one of the three churches in New York, you can make a reservation for a bus which will drive you to the pilgrimage on Thursday or Saturday morning.
